CS Edge – Issue 8: SEBI modifies process to get SCORES authentication for registered intermediaries

It is mandatory for all listed entities and SEBI registered intermediaries (except Stock Brokers and Depository Participants) to have SCORES user id and password to view complaints made against them by the investors.

All listed entities and registered intermediaries have to send specified form as well as an email to SEBI to get SCORES credentials.

SEBI has now modified the process to get SCORES credentials for all newly registered intermediaries.

All newly registered intermediaries will automatically get SCORES user id and password from SEBI as soon as they get approval for registration with SEBI. The new intermediaries need not follow the earlier process of sending form and email to SEBI. The registered intermediaries who do not have SCORES credentials have to follow the earlier process.

SEBI has done this change to streamline the process of providing SCORES credentials and in the interest of investors.

SCORES credentials will be sent to the email id of contact person / compliance officer provided by the intermediary at the time of making the application for registration to SEBI. Also, all notifications about complaints received on SCORES will be sent to the same email id.

This modification has been done only for SEBI registered intermediaries. All listed entities have to continue following the same process of sending form (Form A) as well as an email to SEBI to get SCORES credentials.
